Ultraviolet-Visible-Near Infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) Spectrophotometer

Home Facilities Ultraviolet-Visible-Near Infrared (UV-Vis-NIR) Spectrophotometer

Make: JASCO V-770 SPECTROPHOTOMETER

Model: JASCO V-770 SPECTROPHOTOMETER

  • Wide wavelength range, from 190 to 2700 nm.
  • A unique single monochromator with two gratings designed for maximum light throughput resulting in a great S/N ratio and excellent absorbance linearity over the entire spectral range.
  • Ensures good performance even for narrow spectral bandwidths.
  • Adjustable automatic gratings and detectors switch-over

UV-Vis-NIR spectroscopy is a powerful analytical technique to determine the optical properties (transmittance, reflectance and absorbance) of liquids and solids. It is a non-destructive test capable of real-time quantitative compositional analysis. The applications are following but not limited to,

  • In materials science the technique is used to characterize semiconductor materials, glass, and coatings.
  • In pharmaceuticals, manufacturing industries, food and beverages industries it is used to identify chemical composition (medicinals, sugar, protein, lipid content etc.) and for the quality control of the products.
